Mt. Fuji Off-Season Access

Although official climing season is from July 1st to September 10th, the Fuji-Subaru Line (tollway), which runs up to the 5th station stays open as conditions permit, and buses may be available year round from Fujisan Station to the 5th station.

(The Fuji Subaru Line generally closes in most cases of snowfall/bad weather during the winter -- Check the current status by clicking the link below.)

After September, services at the Fuji Subaru Line 5th station are sparse, although some shops and restaurants may stay open through the Autumn Leaves season (early November).

Mountain Huts above the 5th station are closed after September 10th every year.

2024 Fall Season Buses (As of October 1st)

Buses from Fujisan Station and Kawaguchiko Station are operated by the Fujikyu Bus Company.＜外部リンク＞

In the case that the Fuji Subaru Line is closed due to snow, all bus services will be suspended.
In the case that the Fuji Subaru Line is closed above the 4th station, buses will run only up to the 4th station.
Please be aware that closures in springtime (March - May) are also frequent due to snow removal and road maintenance.
