From NARITA AIRPORT: |
Train: Take the Keisei Skyliner to Ueno Stn. or Narita Express to Tokyo Stn. From Ueno or Tokyo, take the Yamanote Line to Shinjuku Station. There, transfer to the JR Chuo Line and go west to Otsuki Stn. In Otsuki, transfer to the Fujikyu Line. The official Fujikyu Line Homepage is here. The Fujikyu Line runs to Fujiyoshida and Kawaguchiko Stations. During the Spring, summer (climbing season July 1- Agugust 27) and autumn there are Fujikyu Buses from Fujiyoshida Station and Kawaguchiko Stn. to the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji. 5th Station bus schedules here. Or, Plan your train trip. Bus:Take an airport limosine bus from Narita Airport to Shinjuku Station. There, transfer to a Keio Highway Bus (reservations: (03-5376-2222)@to Fujiyoshida or Kawaguchiko. During the Spring, summer (climbing season July 1- Agugust 27) and autumn there are Fujikyu Buses from Fujiyoshida Station and Kawaguchiko Stn. to the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji. The official schedule is located here. From April to October, there are buses from Shinjuku to the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji (no reservations). Car: Leaving Narita, take the Higashikanto Expressway to Hokozaki Interchange. There, change to the Chuo Expressway. At the Otsuki Interchange, head toward the Kawaguchiko Interchange. This interchange is conveniently located on Rt. 139 near Fujikyu Highland Amusement Park. To continue to the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji, take the Fuji Subaru Toll Road (closed in mid August due to high traffic, also closed seasonally from November to March). |

| From OSAKA, KYOTO, and NAGOYA: |
Train: Take Shinkansen or local train to Mishima Stn. Japan Rail Information can be found here. From there, buses run to Gotemba where you can catch another Fujikyu Bus to Fujiyoshida and Kawaguchiko. From April until November, buses also run from Shinfuji and Funinomiya. Plan your train trip.
Car: From Gotemba, drivers can take two routes: Rt. 138 (which becomes Rt. 139 in Fujiyoshida) or the Expressway. When taking the express route, exit at the Kawaguchiko Interchange. Taking 138 will lead directly to Fujiyoshida. Along the way, it magically changes to Rt. 139. The Fuji Subaru Toll Road, which leads to the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji intersects Rt. 139 between Fujiyoshida and Kawaguchiko near the Kawaguchiko Interchange. During August, it is sometimes closed due to traffic.
